October 15, 2020: Our October meeting with Eric Drexler from Sulky will take place on Zoom.

Plans have been made to continue meeting virtually through the fall with the hopes of restarting in-person meetings for spring of 2021. Zoom links are sent out one or two days prior to the meeting to members and paying guests. Please click here to see how to attend as a guest.

Illinois is currently in Phase 4 of the COVID-19 recovery plan.

Welcome to NSQG!

Join us for our monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month (except December) at 7PM at Rolling Meadows Community Center (3705 Pheasant Drive). (Please see our alternate plans elsewhere on this page during the COVID-19.) Click here for map and directions.

November is all about paisley!

Carol Butzke from Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts will join us for a lecture on the origins, history, and evolutions of paisley. If you ever wondered about this beautiful fabric design, be sure to join us for her lecture. Because of the holidays, we will not have any workshops this month, and we will not meet in December.

Directory is Almost Ready

Our 2020-2021 directory is almost ready! With COVID-19 restrictions, this year we will be mailing a copy directly to our members’ homes.

You should receive them before the October 15 meeting. If you don’t have your directory by October 22, please contact membership@nsqg.club.

If you joined after September 20, you will be included in an addendum we will publish in early 2021.

NSQG Wants to Know What You Think

Our first “virtual” survey has arrived. Normally when you fill out your membership form there are survey questions, but this year we are doing it separately.

We are currently need volunteers for several positions, and we’re planning the programming for our next program year. So we need to hear from you!

Click on this link today and help us plan something great for YOU.

October Block of the Month

This month’s block of the month is Gentleman’s Fancy.

Learn more here.

There is no activity this month since we will not be meeting together. Enjoy!

Mug Rug Swap!

Mug rugs are something between a coaster and a placemat, big enough to accommodate a mug and a cookie or two.  They vary in size from 4×7 inches to as large as 12×8 inches.

Get to know a guild member a little better and join our mug rug swap! Sign up by Sunday, October 18. You will receive your “swap-ee” with their contact info (plus a few clues about what they like) by October 21. You must agree to mail your mug rug no later than Thursday, November 12.

For full details, see our flyer.
