Our first LIVE meeting of 2023 will have a lot going on! Join us on Thursday March 16th, 2023 for our monthly meeting as we welcome Dana Jones to NSQG!
Dana will bring her lecture – The International Honor Quilt-Women Honoring Women for us to enjoy. From the University of Louisville website “The International Honor Quilt (IHQ) is a collaborative, grassroots feminist art project initiated by Judy Chicago in 1980 “to extend the spirit of The Dinner Party” on its tour of venues throughout North America, Europe and Australia. It consists of a collection of 539 individual quilts …. which utilize a wide variety of materials and techniques, (that) have been made by different women or groups honoring and addressing individually selected women, women’s organizations, or women’s issues, to expand the number of women honored by Chicago’s The Dinner Party.
We have plenty of other items of business happening as well, especially for our upcoming Quilt Show “The Art of Hope”. Don’t forget our entries are due. Please bring your entry form plus a color photo only to the meeting. We look forward to seeing you all this Thursday!
Our meeting is at the Rolling Meadows Community Center and doors open at 6:30pm. Come join the fun!
