Member Activity February 2027
Quilter’s Soup Challenge

- Who: Any NSQG member interested in participating!
- What: Fill a pint-sized mason jar with fabric scraps—this will be your “soup base.” Bring your filled jar to the OCTOBER meeting for a fun exchange!
- You’ll be paired up with someone and go home with someone else’s jar, and here’s the challenge: By the February 2027 meeting, create something for that person using the fabric you receive! It can be anything: mini quilt, mug rug, table runner, bag, wall hanging—let your creativity lead the way!
- When: Bring your Soup Mix (pint sized jar with scraps) to the October Guild Meeting. Bring your finished “soup” (creation from the “soup mix” you took home) to the February 2027 Guild Meeting. Can’t attend but still want to participate? No problem! Contact Karen Snell at activities@nsqg.club
Please complete the below information for the Quilter’s Soup Challenge: (You can print this page, fill in the information and bring to the October Meeting. Forms will also be available at the October meeting.) You can also print the Soup Challenge Form pdf.
Guidelines:
Fill your jar with the “soup mix”.
- Fabric pieces can be as small as 2″ square and as large as 10″ square, and anything in between.
- You can have as many or as few fabrics as you like, but a variety of ingredients that blend well together make a wonderful and delicious soup.
- Fill out the bottom half of this sheet and include it in your jar.
- Bring your jar to the October Meeting for the exchange.
Once you have someone else’s “soup mix”:
- You may add broth, one fabric, to the soup mix.
- You may add spices that include:
- Batting, Fusible, Backing and Binding
- Embellishments.
- You should use at least half the fabric in the jar.
- Return your completed “soup” to the February 2027 Guild Meeting.
