NSQG Charity Projects
Charity work is a big part of what we do and we strongly encourage member participation in service to others. We collect many items and distribute them to several different service organizations in our community. Please email info@nsqg.club for more information.
Hospice Quilts
Currently many Guild members participate in making quilts for the Rainbow Hospice in Park Ridge. Rainbow Hospice cares for critically ill patients who are no longer able to receive sufficient care at home and can no longer be taken care of in a hospital. A quilt is on the foot of the bed when a new patient is admitted and becomes a treasured keepsake of the family when the patient has passed.
Many times kits are available at the monthly meetings but volunteers may also use their own fabrics. Batting is furnished by the quilter. These quilts need to be between 42″ and 45″ on each side. Almost any quilt design is accepted but should not exceed the 45×45-inch finished dimensions. Please do not use holiday fabrics for hospice quilts.
Kids Quilts
Members also make quilts for children which mostly go to Project Linus. (www.projectlinus.org) These quilts need to be at least 36″ x 36″ and at most twin sized. They can be any pattern but cannot use holiday fabrics or themes.
We welcome fabric and batting donations.
