Coming to NSQG September 19th, 2024 is Melanie McNeil.

Melanie will present her lecture and trunk show: Top Ten Tips for Magnificent Medallion Quilts.

We will be meeting at the Rolling Meadows Community Center (3705 Pheasant Drive, Rolling Meadows, Illinois) with doors open at 6:30pm.

Melanie’s companion workshop On Friday September 20th, 2024 is now FULL. If you’d like to be on the waiting list or have questions about our programs please contact us at programs@nsqg.club.

For our Little Bits of Whimsy Quilt Show we are selling tickets for our opportunity raffle quilt called “Color-Rings”.

Northwest Suburban Quilters Guild Opportunity Raffle Quilt for 2025 features deep saturated rainbow colors and the design is a Double Wedding Ring 98x98

The size of the quilt is 98″x 98″ and was lovingly created by members of the guild and professionally long-arm quilted by Barb Jolley of MB Services.

Tickets are sold by NSQG Guild Members and are $1 for 1 ticket or $5 for 6 tickets. Due to licensing laws we are not able to sell tickets on-line but will happily assist you off-line. For information on how to purchase your chance to win this beautiful quilt contact us at info@nsqg.club. The winner will be drawn on Sunday May 18th, 2025 at the close of our “Little Bits of Whimsy” Quilt Show.

In addition to the quilt, we are also selling note cards and scarves which are selling at a brisk clip! You can purchase both of these items at our meetings, events, and through our members all the way up until and during our show.

We are currently looking for a member or two to take on the Marketing aspect of the show and another member or two to take on the lead for the Set-Up and Take-Down of the show. These two areas on the surface might sound intimidating but in actuality are not. The Marketing of the show is all about getting the word out for the show and much of the pre-work has already been done. Having someone to create posts on-line, direct marketing, and PR is essential for the success of the show. The Set-Up and Take-Down role is also very important. In this role you’ll be the point person during Set-Up day and the point person during the last hours of the show when we take it all down. Having someone dedicated to take on these areas really helps. If you are interested in learning more about these two roles please contact our Quilt Show Chair Karen Snell at quiltshow@nsqg.club.

In addition, we will have some kits to pick up for items to sew for the Boutique. Our meeting this month will also include our Charity table, Bozo Buckets, Door Prizes and we welcome the DeKalb County Quilt Guild from Sycamore, IL. They will be promoting their upcoming quilt show in October as well as selling tickets for their raffle quilt.

We hope to see you on the 19th!
