The following policies have been established by the NSQG Board to provide for orderly and efficient administration of Guild activities affecting the general membership.

  1. The facility for general meetings will be open no earlier than 6:30pm for in-person and 6:45pm for Zoom. Please enter Zoom meetings with your audio and video off.
  2. Membership cards are required for admittance to in-person general meetings. Ruling established October 18, 1984. members must enter their first and last names when joining Zoom meetings.
  3. The cost for replacement of a membership card ($2.00) or a membership directory ($5.00) was established by the Board as of July 26, 2012.
  4. Workshop fees are not refundable unless the following conditions are met:
    • A: Class has been cancelled by the Guild
    • B: The workshop is full and the Guild can fill your spot
  5. A workshop which does not have adequate participation may be cancelled.
  6. Non-member registration for workshop openings begins after October 1st or sooner at the discretion of the 1st VP/Program Chair.
  7. No items will be offered for sale at workshops by anyone other than the person conducting the workshop.
  8. Raffle Quilts – It is necessary for outside groups that wish to display raffle quilts to contact the Guild President in advance.
  9. Photographs taken at any NSQG event must be for noncommercial use. Video or audio recording is strictly prohibited, and may be cause for dismissal from the event without a refund. This applies to both live and virtual presentations.
  10. Quilt shops giving discounts to NSQG members, or donating door prizes at general meetings, may distribute advertising flyers.
  11. Treasurer’s reports will be available at each general meeting with copies available upon request to any member.
  12. Any items purchased for the Guild with Guild funds shall remain Guild property.
  13. The NSQG membership information is for members’ use only and members are prohibited from providing copies in any format to any other party. No one may use this information for any purpose other than Guild business.
  14. The purpose of the NSQG Facebook page is to promote our Guild’s activities, and to promote quilting activities in the Chicago area. We will not allow individuals or shops to promote their business on this page.
