Three times a year, members of the Guild meet for a weekend of sewing, inspiration, guidance, laughing, eating and a whole lot of fun at the Hilton Garden Inn – Lake Forest! Sleeping is optional. Participants work on their own projects and, although we do not have a special teacher for these retreats, occasionally someone will demonstrate a new tool or technique.
The $60 fee covers your portion of the ballroom rental, which is our sewing room for the weekend. At checkout, you will need to pay the hotel directly for your guest room, whether it is a single or shared room.

*Retreat space is limited to 30 participants. This system ensures everyone in the guild has a fair opportunity to lock in a spot. In the event of a wait list, postmarks will be the determining factor for order. If the date listed falls on a Sunday or other non-USPS day, please consider the next available USPS date as the deadline.
The sewing room is available from 8:00 AM on Friday until 6:00 PM on Sunday. You may come and go as you need to. Get there as early as you can, and stay as late as you are able. Some people have to wait until after work hours on Friday, or leave for a few hours for family commitments. This is all just fine.
Each person has their own table space for sewing or planning. There are communal cutting tables and ironing boards for everyone’s use in the sewing room, too. You do not need to bring your own iron, as the hotel supplies theirs for us to use. But please do bring all the supplies you need for your projects, including your own cutting tools and a light for at your station. Special projects are usually not planned as part of the event, unless a few of the people within the group decide to do so beforehand. These retreats present a wonderful opportunity if you are having difficulty with a project since there are many very talented quilters who attend and are willing to share their knowledge. (If you run into an emergency, there is a fabric store nearby.)
The cost to register for a spot in the retreat is $60 per person. This covers your share of the ballroom expenses. Your meals and guest room expenses (approximately $95, plus tax, for double occupancy) are extra. Non-members/guests are welcome, based on availability. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant, and there are many others close to the facility. There are coffee makers, mini-refrigerators and microwave ovens in each guest room. Water service is provided in the sewing room.

Please do NOT make your own room reservation. We handle that for you with the room block. If you have a preferred roommate, please let Maria know. The hotel requires that the room block list have a ‘cut-off’ date three weeks before the event!
