Laura Heine

Laura Heine’s mix of artistic skills comes into play in her glorious art quilts. She has expert collaging skills when it comes to cutting and pasting, her painting talents shine as she arranges fabric motifs to blend colors, and her quilting abilities are award-winning. Laura has created a candy-colored world where everything from cars to giraffes are adorned with beautiful florals.

Our live events with Laura will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Schaumburg (near Woodfield Mall). Please see event guidelines for what to expect regarding COVID-19 mitigations.

Special Live Event Guidelines

With the advent of vaccines, we are holding a special live “test” event to  hear and see one of the most sought-after quilt teachers in the country. Laura will be doing two workshops and a lecture for us. To keep everyone safe, participants in the live events MUST agree to the following:

-If you are sick or feeling unwell, or have been recently exposed to COVID-19, please keep your fellow quilters safe and do not attend.

-All NSQG class participants (and employees of Fiberworks, Inc.) are required to comply with all COVID-19 precautions as outlined by the Village of Schaumburg, Cook County, and the state of Illinois in effect at the time of the workshops and lecture.

-Anyone who is not willing to follow the guidelines in place at the time of the meeting will not be permitted into the venue. If participants are admitted, then later refuse to follow guidelines, they will be dismissed from the class or lecture. If you are refused entry or dismissed from the class, there will not be a refund.

-At the time of this writing safety requirements include:  6 feet of social distancing, the need to wear a mask at all times, and the need for frequent hand washing.

-Eating will not be permitted within the workshop space.

We will continue to monitor the changes and will advise attendees of necessary updates.

We hope for a fun and successful event that will help inform us of how to best move forward in planning our upcoming guild program year.
