Description

Type of Workshop: Hands on, sewing and piecing a ‘Bounce’ quilt block.
Techniques Covered: Foundation paper piecing, appliqué (machine), fabric placement for visual movement

Description: Ever felt like you have too many balls in the air to juggle? Let’s put some of them onto a quilt…you can even label them if you feel the need:)  This playful design brings energy and movement combining the straight lines of foundation paper piecing and soft curves of applique’.  We’ll cover the fundamentals of foundation paper piecing (cutting, fabric placement, stitching order, and paper removal) making this class approachable even if you’re new to the technique.

Bounce also offers an opportunity to Quilt-as-you-go.

Skill Level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate

Outcome: At least One finished Bounce block.

Kit fee is $25 (This will include the class handouts and enough templates to make 10 blocks) and payment is made to instructor in class.

Workshop Policies

Video or audio recording of class material is strictly prohibited, and may be cause for dismissal from the class without a refund.

Workshop registration is reserved for NSQG members July through September, unless otherwise posted.

No seat in any workshop is reserved until payment has been received.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to in-person classes to set up . For virtual workshops, the link will open approximately 15 minutes prior to class time so you can ensure your connectivity.

Cancellation policy: If NSQG cancels the workshop, it is fully refundable to attendees. If participants cancel attendance at a workshop, it is only refundable if the spot can be filled by another attendee.

For full day workshops, a lunch break of one hour is included. For in-person workshops, lunch is not included in the price. The programs chair will provide details about food policies at the venue.

Be prepared. This includes having all items on the supply list, a sewing machine in good working order, and basic sewing supplies and an extension cord/power strip. Also useful: a small iron and an ironing surface that may be shared with other students.

Silence phones during class. If you need to make or take a call, please exit the classroom.

Visitors are very distracting and are not allowed other than during the lunch break.

If you know you have to leave class early, please try to sit in the back of the room to avoid disturbing the rest of the class.

Please refrain from wearing perfume.
