Sarah Nishiura has accomplishments that fill pages. She has won awards for her quilts, created a variety of publications, and has exhibited both locally and internationally. She also lectures, judges, teaches — and does commissioned work. She brings a wealth of knowledge with her lecture and trunk show.

Sarah’s lecture and trunk show will showcase her own love and familiar connection to Japanese crafts, depression era quilts, geometry, hand quilting and the spirit of thrift and how these have led to her personal design aesthetic.
Saturday January 20, 2018 – ‘Foundation Paper Piecing’
Foundation paper piecing is a technique every quilter should try. It can be used to construct everything from crazy quilts and string quilts to extraordinarily intricate blocks. Students will learn the basics of paper piecing while exploring the potential of the techniques through both individual and group exercises.
Time: 9:30am – 4:30pm Please arrive at 9 so you can be set up and ready to go by 9:30am.
