Rob Appell’s lecture “Quilts From The Sea And Beyond” will be presented at our guild meeting on Thursday September 15th at 7:15 pm.
Rob Appell blends his love for the ocean with his work as a textile artist and designer. At his mom’s quilt shop, Rob found a fondness for Hawaiian shirt making. Shirt scraps make beautiful quilts, and so does Rob. He learned to quilt by trial and error and definitely brings a masculine touch to this age old tradition. After 20 years in the industry, Rob designs quilts for Michael Miller Fabrics, has authored a few books, countless quilt patterns and produced a few DVD’s along with inventing sewing and quilting tools. He services sewing machines in his studio in Morro Bay, CA.
He is the host of Man Sewing – has boundless energy and enthusiasm for life and creativity. Every Monday he has a new You Tube tutorial that is “High Voltage Edu-Tainment” – where creativity meets caffeine.
